With available raw materials, this is a high-class material trusted by various fashion brands, not only as a sustainable fashion material but also towards environmental protection.

Presenting at “Start-up Festival 2022: Presentation of investment capital”, Ms. Vu Thi Lieu – project representative said that the target customers of the project are foreign companies producing leather in pineapple fiber, domestic textile companies and handicraft villages. Currently, in the Philippines and India, there are enterprises producing pineapple fibers from pineapple leaves, however, Ecosoi has the additional advantage of spinned fibers and leather products from available resources in cooperatives in Vietnam for technology transfer. Product distribution channel in 2022 is B2B and in 2023 onwards is B2C.
In the question-and-answer part, Mr. Nguyen Hoang – Chairman of Vinalink Group asked whether the project has produced any products or just raw fibers and if any partners have produced any products from the raw fibers supplied by the project.
Mr. Nguyen Hoang – Chairman of Vinalink Group asked a question to the project representative.
Ms. Lieu said that there are companies making leather from pineapple fibers around the world and distributing them in the European market. The demand for this type of leather is very large so leather manufacturers are always looking for units that can supply them with pineapple fiber. Ecosoi has been listed by such units as a potential supplier since 2022.
Ecoisoi itself develops fiber products from pineapple fiber, and pineapple fiber fabric is being developing as a new product. The advantage of pineapple fiber is that it has great sweat absorption, better durability in comparison with cotton fibers. Besides, it only combines with some natural fibers, not with synthetic fibers.
Answering Mr. Hoang’s question if the project would use capital for market development or not, Ecosoi’s representative shared that the project aims at foreign partners, and in the process of developing fibers, fabric and leather products from pineapple fibers.
The project applies the mechanic technology of separating fibers. The total expected revenue of raw fibers in 2022 is 21 billion VND with the profit of 1.6 billion. The net profit will be higher because of capital rotation.
In addition, judge Hong Thuy from the Southern Startup Advisory Council also asked questions about how to manage materials and how to use this resource.
Ms. Lieu mentioned that the source of pineapple raw materials in Vietnam is very large, stretching through the North Central and South regions. The assessible raw materials is only about 20% of the source of pineapple leaves in Vietnam, which is already very large. On average, 70kg of fresh pineapple leaves can provide 1kg of dried fiber.
Regarding the raw material area, the project already has the area in Thanh Hoa and Nghe An province, which can then be further developed.
